Sennheiser/Paste Party in Austin Preview: Reptar

Sennheiser & Paste are teaming up for a three-day party during SXSW. Sennheiser & Paste Present the Stages on Sixth will feature 33 of our favorite bands in Austin, Texas, March 14 to 16. During the 33 days leading up to the event, we’re previewing a different each day. We hope to see you in Austin—RSVP if you can make it. And don’t worry if you can’t; we’ll be posting video of each performance.

Hometown:Athens, Ga.
Members: William Kennedy (keyboard), Graham Ulicny (vocals, guitarist), Andrew McFarland (drummer), Ryan Engelberger (bass)
Album: Body Faucet
For Fans Of: The Talking Heads, Vampire Weekend, Animal Collective

The Southern electronic afro-pop quartet have created quite a buzz these past months leading up to the release of their debut album Body Faucet, produced by Ben Allen (Animal Collective) in May. The band’s unwieldy instruments and electronic manipulations are a powerful combination. Match that with their high-energy performances and distinctive enthusiastic style and you get the vibrancy of Reptar. The still-in-college-newbies have so far exceeded the hype surrounding their 2012 tour. When it comes to Reptar, we just want more.

Check out their official music video for the audience-favorite track, “Blast Off.”
