Sigur Rós Announces 2012 Tour
After a three-year hiatus, where frontman Jónsi took to multiple projects that included solo album Go, side project Riceboy Sleeps and the soundtrack for Cameron Crowe’s We Bought A Zoo, the prolific Icelandic band has announced they will be touring again in 2012.
The band has not been silent these last three years. 2011 brought the release of their highly acclaimed documentary Inni, directed by Vincent Morisset, which captured never-before-seen concert footage.
The website announcement reads, “This morning we’re delighted to announce that on the 9th of September, Sigur Rós will play at Bestival Festival on the Isle of Wight in England. It’ll be their only show in the UK in 2012. Information about the festival and tickers are available via our tour page. We’ll be announcing more tour dates soon – sign up to our mailing list to get the news first.”
Though it’s just a taste of what’s to come, we are anticipating dates for what we assume will be an international tour.
