TV on the Radio Releases Nine Types of Light Film

Brooklyn’s indie favorites TV on the Radio just released a film set to the music of their acclaimed 2011 album, Nine Types of Light. The movie, also called Nine Types of Light is now available for digital purchase on iTunes and on DVD at Amazon.

The movie, which runs for just more than an hour, includes music videos for each song on the album and is supposed to represent a visual interpretation of the record. Lead singer Tunde Adebimpe not only directed the Nine Types of Light film, but also storybooked it and helmed the video for “Forgotten.” Additionally, the rest of the band worked with friends and filmmakers to help conceptualize and direct the rest of the music videos.

Nine Types of Light is nominated for a Grammy for “Best Long Form Music Video” and the winner will be announced during the awards show on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. Check out the trailer for the film below.
