Van Halen Enlists Kool & the Gang As Tour Openers
In what is shaping up to be possibly the best the ‘80s revival tour of the decade, Van Halen has announced that Kool & the Gang will be opening for them on their upcoming national tour.
Robert “Kool” Bell, co-founder of the pop group, told Billboard that David Lee Roth saw their Glastonbury performance last year and was so impressed that he invited them on the bill. Kool & the Gang will play a 50-minute set that includes hits like “Ladies’ Night” and “Celebration,” but also some of their rockier songs.
Van Halen and Kool & the Gang hit the road starting Feb. 18 in Louisville, Ky. Check out the rest of the dates and purchase tickets here.
