Ward’s new album, A Wasteland Companion drops April 10 on Merge and leads off with the single “The First Time I Ran Away.” Directed by Joel Trussell (who also helmed the beautiful “Chinese Translation" video in 2006), the animated story of “The First Time I Ran Away” similarly follows the lyrical trajectory.
