Admiral Fallow Announces U.S. Release for Tree Bursts in Snow

Scottish quintet Admiral Fallow has announced its sophomore album, Tree Bursts In Snow, will be released in the U.S. on May 22. The band’s first album with record label Nettwerk, Tree Bursts In Snow follows last year’s debut album, Boots Met My Face.

Admiral Fallow —comprised of Louis Abbott (vocals, guitar), Sarah Hayes (vocals, flute, piano), Kevin Brolly (clarinet, keyboards, backing vocals), Joe Rattray (bass, double bass, backing vocals) and Philip Hague (drums, vibraphone, backing vocals)— has been praised by contemporaries (see: Frightened Rabbit) and lauded by fans for their smooth and distinctly Scottish chamber pop.

The band worked with Paul Savage (Franz Ferdinand, Mogwai, Teenage Fanclub) in Glasgow to mix and produce Tree Bursts in Snow . Greg Calbi —who has worked with Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes and The National— mastered the record in New York City.

“I think of an album in the same way I do a live show,” said Abbott. “It needs to have a strong balance between catchy numbers and the slow-burners.”

Tree Bursts in Snow leads with the first single, “Beetle in the Box,” and while Admiral Fallow already has a U.K. tour in the works, they’re also a plotting a venture stateside.
