Stand-up comedian Dane Cook said he was going to take time off from his day job to pursue acting further and has officially has a new project at NBC, reports Deadline. Cook agreed to a developmental deal last September, and the project will be written by Stephen Falk (Weeds).
Cook will star in Next Caller Please as a radio DJ who sounds an awful lot like Howard Stern. Following suit with a dozen other pilots floating around, his world will be turned upside down when a pretty feminist (played by Collette Wolfe) joins his show as a co-host.
Other casting and filming news hasn’t been announced yet, but the pilot will likely film over the summer in time for a fall premiere if it gets picked up.
