Inaugural CBGB Festival Hits New York City This Summer
Even though New York City’s legendary CBGB shuttered its Bowery location in 2006, organizers just announced a new five-day festival honoring the club’s storied roots. Scheduled to take place July 4-8, the CBGB Festival will include live shows, musical films, conference-style industry workshops and intimate storytelling.
According to the fest’s Sonicbids page, the event will also feature, “hundreds of performances, showcase concerts and music themed filmed parties & events in all five boros of NYC with a special focus on the Lower East Side & Brooklyn.”
While specific details on lineups, venues, ticket costs, etc. have not yet been determined, the CBGB Festival is currently seeking performers for the summer event. Check out the Sonicbids page for more information about playing and be sure to follow CBGB’s website and Facebook page as they’re updated.
