LCD Soundsystem, Animal Collective, Arctic Monkeys Announce Record Store Day Releases
As Record Store Day approaches, more big plans from some indie-kid favorites favorites have been announced. According to Prefix, now retired LCD Soundsystem plan to re-release their original single “Losing My Edge”, which should be a relief for new fans of the band.
Meanwhile, according to Consequence of Sound, Animal Collective has announced a more substantial release: a 12" of previously unreleased tracks called “Transverse Temporal Gyrus”. The tracks were infamously “performed” at the Guggenheim Museum back in 2010 (no, they didn’t actually do anything live and yes, they were dressed as bunnies).
The Clash have also announced a April 16th release of a 7’’ heavyweight red vinyl reissue of the third single from Sandinista!, originally released in 1981.
Lastly, the Arctic Monkeys are planning to release their new single “R U Mine?” on an exclusive purple 7" that will also include a new b-side called “Electricity.” Domino Records, to whom the Arctic Monkeys and Animal Collective work under, will also be releasing an exclusive zine for Record Store Day that will include art and writing from some of the their other big artists like Dirty Projectors and Real Estate.
