Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis have been offered lead parts in the upcoming Lana and Andy Wachowski-directed Jupiter Ascending, according to Deadline. The sci-fi film, produced by Warner Bros., will be the Wachowski’s first major venture into the genre since their redefining Matrix series.
Jupiter Ascending is an original work by the duo and should start production later this year. No further information regarding the plot, but rumors have circulated that it is about Earth’s space colonies in the midst of an epic war. Natalie Portman was offered the lead this past January before she turned down the part.
The Wachowski siblings recently finished their drama Cloud Atlas, which was their first film since 2008’s Speed Racer.
