Turntable.fm Gets Legal
As reported by Billboard and announced at SXSW, the popular radio streaming service is finally in legal terms with the big record labels including Universal, Sony, EMI, and Warner.
Turntable held a conference at SXSW called “Turntable.FM: The Future of Music Is Social.” Although the service hasn’t seen a surge in popularity in awhile, the optimistic announcement might be just what Turntable needs to get listener’s attention again.
The guys from Universal actually seem to be really into the service. According to Bill Campbell, Senior VP of Global Digital Business Development at Universal, “Once you start to gamify music discovery, that’s when you start really understanding what social engagement and loyalty comes down to.”
