Last night, Andrew Bird stopped by The Colbert Report for a quick interview and performances of “Eyeoneye” and “Danse Caribe,” both from his acclaimed seventh studio album Break It Yourself.
Bird elegantly held his own to the notorious comedian.
Colbert prodded, “The song you’re going to play tonight was inspired by the tumor called teratoma which is like a fatty mass of teeth and hair. That’s pretty obvious pop song territory. Why don’t you take more risks?”
Bird quipped back, “Well I go for universal subjects like that.”
