Carrie Brownstein to Write Memoir

Carrie Brownstein—former writer for The Believer, reviewer of video games for Slate and blog writer for NPR—announced she has signed with Riverhead Press to write a memoir on her band Sleater-Kinney, the Olympia, Wash., scene and her life in music.

While no publication date has been set, the Wild Flag guitarist and singer did announce last month that she and Portlandia partner Fred Armisen will write a parody travel book titled Portlandia: A Guide for Visitors. The book will be based off their IFC sketch comedy show.

This season has included guests like Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold and Joanna Newsom. Season one and two of Portlandia are now available on iTunes.

Check out one of our favorite moments, a little Paste shout out, from the IFC series.
