David Byrne, St. Vincent Collaboration Set for Fall Release

It’s been a while since we reported any updates on the long-awaited David Byrne and St. Vincent collaborative project. But Rolling Stone recently announced that the yet-to-be-titled album could get a fall release.

Production on the record began in 2009 after the Talking Heads frontman and St. Vincent’s Annie Clark met at a charity show where Dirty Projectors an Björk performed.

As for musical details, Clark told Pitchfork last year that the album is “very split down the middle between who writes lyrics and who sings.”

Byrne has also described the album as being influenced by brass instrumentation.

According to Consequence of Sound, Byrne said he would eventually add vocals to the one instrumental song that leaked, “Two Ships.”

Check out video footage below of “Two Ships,” performed by the 12-piece Asphalt Orchestra in August 2010.
