M.I.A. Recorded Music for WikiLeaks Founder's Talk Show

With WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s new talk show making its debut in just four days, there are now reports that notorious Sri Lankan pop artist M.I.A has written original music to act as the show’s theme song. Considering she is the daughter of a leader of the Tamil separatist movement and had released a mixtape back in 2010 called Vicki Leekx, the collaboration seems like a no-brainer. To make the connection even more apparent, WikiLeaks tweeted that “M.I.A. is the Julian Assange of pop music” earlier today.

The interview series is called The World Tomorrow and is set to make its debut on April 16 on the English-Russian channel RT. The show will also be available for viewing online. Although the current list of guests is still unknown, Assange has reportedly said that the guests will include “global notables” who “normally simply would not be given a voice on TV at all. What is fair to say is that the majority of what they have said to me they could not say on a mainstream TV network.”
