Nominations for 2012 Hugo Awards Announced
This weekend the World Science Fiction Society announced their nominations for the Hugo Award, their award for the best works of science fiction and fantasy in the past year. The awards cover everything from novels, films, fanzines, editors and podcasts.
This year the biggest nominee is George R. R. Martin, who was nominated for Best Novel with A Dance With Dragon and for the first season of Game of Thrones in Best Dramatic Presentation (Long Form), which has to compete against Captain America: The First Avenger, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, Hugo and Source Code.
Community has also been nominated for Best Dramatic Presentation (Short Form) for the episode “Remedial Chaos Theory”, which is nominated against three separate Doctor Who episodes, “The Doctor’s Wife”, “The Girl Who Waited” and “A Good Man Goes to War”, and against “The Drink Tank’s Hugo Acceptance Speech”.
