Watch tUnE-yArDs’ New Video for “My Country”
Even though tUnE-yArDs’ excellent sophomore album w h o k i l l was released last year, a video for opening track, “My Country,” made its debut today.
Directed by Mimi Cave, the clip stars a dozen children from the progressive Bay Area K-12 school, Brightworks, and a non-profit music education program called the San Francisco Rock Project. Dressed like their fearless leader, all the kids dance, mess with an assortment of instruments and lip-sync the words throughout the video.
The best part is that Garbus just launched a Kickstarter campaign to give back to the SF Rock Project. As she explained on the page, “SF Rock Project would like to start a ‘lending library’ of instruments to offer students. If our Kickstarter campaign succeeds, they will be able to reach even more young people with their unique form of music education. The school will use the funds to purchase guitars, bass guitars, ukuleles, percussion instruments, a keyboard, and more to be used in the SF Rock Project LIVE SHOW this summer, which will be a celebration of this campaign!”
