Anthony Bourdain to Host Weekend Show on CNN

In early 2013, chef Anthony Bourdain will add CNN host to his already-extensive résumé. The news network has announced that Bourdain will be given a weekend show on which he will discuss all things food, from celebrity chefs, to fast food, to veganism. Unfortunatley for fans of No Reservations, the new show will mean the termination of his long-running Travel Channel series.

Over the course of the past decade, Bourdain has become one of the most recognizable chefs on the planet, but few know him for his actual cooking skills. His 2000 memoir Kitchen Confidential was a breakthrough bestseller, and he has since parlayed its success into several additional books chronicling his adventures in food, including three novels. Most people, however, know Bourdain from his role as host of the award-winning Travel Channel series No Reservations, which is currently in its eighth season.

“I’m really looking forward to coming over to CNN,” Bourdain said about the new show. “I think the world is going to get a whole lot bigger for me. I hope that old fans and new ones will be excited about what’s coming down the road.”

The show, which is yet to be named, is expected to air Sundays during primetime.
