With the May 4 release of The Avengers grossing an astounding $700 million at the box-office, it is not surprising the Joss Whedon-directed film will get a sequel. Yesterday, Disney’s CEO Bob Iger announced that The Avengers sequel is in the works, according to The Guardian.
Iger also confirmed that Iron Man 3, Thor 2 and Captain America 2 will be headed to big screens internationally through Marvel Studios, which Disney bought for $4 billion in 2009. The release date for The Avengers sequel has not yet been announced.
Yesterday, the Hollywood Reporter revealed that British actor Rebecca Hall (Vicky Christina Barcelona and The Town) is in talks to appear with Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 3 after Jessica Chastain passed on the film.
