Doom 3 Re-Mastered and Expanded
Doom 3, one of the most classic and iconic first-person shooters to date, is getting a revamp, Bethesda Softworks announced.
The BFG Edition is a re-mastered version of the original. According to Eurogamer, it will feature updated graphics, 3D and head-mounted display support, improved rendering and lighting, and 5.1 surround sound capabilities. It will also incorporate better controls for play, new inventory items such as an armor-mounted flashlight, and Xbox 360 achievements and PS3 trophies. A new checkpoint save system will also give players better game progression.
In addition to its many graphical and gameplay upgrades, the package also includes the original Doom and Doom 2, as well as the “Resurrection of Evil” add-on and seven new “The Lost Mission” levels.
The game will release sometime this fall for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. You can check out the first trailer for Doom 3: BFG Edition below.
