Beck's Third Man Records Single Hits Internet

Update: Beck’s single was taken offline earlier today, but some versions are still popping up on YouTube. You can still take a listen to the previews of both of the singles to appear on Beck’s Third Man single here, and of course, check out Beck and his adorable son on stage below.

As previously reported, Beck and Jack White have released a single on 7” vinyl. “I Just Started Hating Some People Today” and “Blue Randy” were produced by Jack White and available now through Third Man Records.

The former, available for streaming below, spans across several distinct genres in its five-minute life: slide-guitar country, frantic punk (with some vocals supplied by White), and bass-driven funk with a suggestive overtone. “Blue Randy” also features drums by White, though for now, you’ll have to buy the 7” to hear it. Prepare for musical whiplash—in the best way possible.

For the vinyl collectors for whom a plain black record just won’t do, Third Man will release 100 tricolor vinyl singles at Randy Records in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 2.

Maybe Beck’s 8-year-old son Cosimo can make an encore performance dancing to this single? His debut came during Beck’s recent performance at the Santa Barbara Bowl of “E-Pro” on May 24, and boy, was the spirit moving him. Beck walking over to his son and smiling is priceless. Watch Cosimo bust a move after the song stream.
