Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters to Join Mick Jagger for SNL Appearance

UPDATE: Members of Arcade Fire and Foo Fighters are confirmed to appear in Jagger’s backing band for his May 19 appearance on Saturday Night Live, Entertainment Weekly reported. Although it wasn’t clear what members of the band would appear with Jagger (to include both full touring bands for Arcade Fire and Foo Fighters would bring about 15 people to the stage), the website confirmed that both Dave Grohl and Win Butler would make appearances. Arcade Fire tweet later confirmed their appearance on the show.

After last week’s announcement that Will Ferrell is scheduled to host the second-to-last episode of Saturday Night Live’s 37th season, the question was raised of who would be big enough to host the actual finale. As it turns out, one of rock’s greatest living legends, Mick Jagger, would fill the spot as both host and musical guest, according to NBC.

This will be Jagger’s fifth performance as a musical guest on SNL, with one appearance with The Rolling Stones and three appearances as a solo act. Jagger has also shared hosting duties with The Rolling Stones on the SNL Season 4 premiere in 1978. Jagger has also made cameos on the show, most recently when Jimmy Fallon hosted last year.

Jagger’s hosting spot is scheduled for May 19. Check out a clip of Jagger’s most recent cameo on SNL with Fallon below.
