“Optical Illusion” Freddie Mercury To Appear in London

Queen’s guitarist Brian May told the BBC yesterday that he and the rest of the band are working on a way to bring their late frontman back into the fray for the 10th anniversary of their rock musical, We Will Rock You, which runs in the West End.

This is no “Hologram Tupac” shtick, though. May described the appearance as, “an optical illusion of sorts” to the BBC. He continued, “People will come out saying, ‘did we actually see Freddie?’”

The Freddie Mercury experience is scheduled take place during a special performance of the musical on May 14 at London’s Dominion Theatre. Additionally, almost all of the original London cast and one of the show’s most recognized producers, Robert De Niro, will reportedly be in attendance.
