Members of The National Appear on New Children's Book iPad App

The National frontman, Matt Berninger, is the narrator of a new interactive children’s book iPad and iPhone app called Dragon Brush. According to the Dragon Brush site, it is based on a traditional Chinese folktale.

Dragon Brush is the story of Bing-Wen, a young boy who loves to paint. When given a magical brush that makes drawings come to life, Bing-Wen must use his art and his wits to outsmart the greedy Emperor.”

The score was created by The National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner and the illustrations were done by John Solimine of Spike Press, who has helped with illustrations for the band’s posters in the past.

According to Pitchfork, Matt Berninger said in a press release: “The story has all my favorite things: waterfalls, magical dragons, and the sound of my own voice.”

The Dragon Brush iPad/iPhone app is available now.
