Universal in Talks to Greenlight Kick-Ass 2
Universal Pictures is in final talks to greenlight Kick-Ass 2, a sequel to the 2010 adaptation of the real-life superhero graphic novel of the same name, according to Deadline. Cry-Wolf writer and director Jeff Wadlow would write and direct the film.
Kick-Ass writer and director Matthew Vaughn will not be returning to direct due to his commitment to the follow-up to X-Men: First Class, but he has placed his full support in Wadlow.
Talks are also underway for original cast members Aaron Johnson, Chloe Grace Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse to reprise their roles. A deal greenlighting the sequel is expected to be finalized soon, which would set August as the beginning of production.
