Watch Andrew Bird's Stop-Motion Video for "Eyeoneye"

Andrew Bird has created a colorful, stop-motion clip for his latest single, “Eyeoneye.”

The production was directed and animated by Yu “Ewan” Morita and reflects the song’s lyrics literally to a certain degree; faceless cutouts attempt to keep Bird’s internal mechanics under control as he sings, “No one can break your heart, so you can break it yourself.” And in case you were wondering, the multi-instrumentalist’s brain is full of fireworks, rockets, molecule chains, various musical instruments and a miniature version of himself—which is pretty much what we expected.

Producer Chika Yamaguchi said of the handcrafted style of the project, “Handmade never has perfect lines; unevenness and roughness are everywhere. Ewan loves imperfections because we ourselves are made from those, and the world we live in is filled with them,” according to Etsy.
