Shortly after the movie poster for Anchorman 2 was revealed, a teaser clip that shows the entire Channel 4 news team back in action was released through Funny or Die. Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner assemble side-by-side to preview the highly anticipated sequel.
While the film doesn’t have an official release, it’s expected to hit theaters sometime next year. Few details about the sequel have emerged, but we do know that Anchorman director Adam McKay plans to be involved with the project.
“I don’t want to give away too much, but I’ll just give a couple pieces of ideas that we’ve kicked around,” McKay said in an interview with Salon. “Keep in mind we’re still writing the story, but I’ll say one phrase for you: custody battle. I’ll give you that. I’ll give you one other one: bowling for dollars.”
Although the clip doesn’t shed any extra light on the movie’s plot (or mention a custody battle), it does feature a promise from Ron Burgundy that “it’s gonna be a fun movie.” Check out the teaser clip below.
