Watch the First Trailer for <i>The Great Gatsby</i>

Take a deep breath, grandma. This isn’t going to be the Roaring ‘20s you remember. The first trailer for the remake based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel, The Great Gatsby, has hit the web, and it’s a whirlwind of color, extravagance and, oh yeah, Kanye West.

Leonardo DiCaprio leads as Jay Gatsby, along with Tobey Maguire as narrator Nick Carraway, and Carey Mulligan as Gatsby’s love interest, Daisy Buchanan. In addition to a star-studded cast, the film is the work of visionary director Baz Luhrmann, who is best known for his work on Moulin Rouge! and Romeo + Juliet.

You can watch the trailer below. The Great Gatsby is expected to hit theaters on Christmas Day of this year.
