Andy Samberg Leaving SNL

Saturday Night Live just won’t be the same without “Lazy Sunday” and Andy Samberg’s other contributions to the sketch comedy show. After seven seasons, he has confirmed his departure.

“It’s an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life,” Samberg told The New York Times. “Obviously it’s not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back.” He said the choice to leave was “one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made."

Samberg frequently collaborated with Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer for the digital shorts as hip-hop group The Lonely Island and was known to have notable star cameos like Justin Timberlake and Natalie Portman. Fans will still get to see him in the upcoming films That’s My Boy with Adam Sandler, and Celeste and Jesse Forever.
