Blur’s journey back to a full-fledged reunion has been filled with rumors and is still a little hazy, but almost a decade after releasing Think Tank in 2003, the band is set to perform new material live on Twitter on July 2 at 1:15 EST. The session will be filmed at a “secret UK location” and will reveal two songs, “Under The Westway” and “The Puritan.” The songs will stream one hour apart with an exclusive band interview in between @blurofficial.
Frontman Damon Albarn says the songs were written for the Hyde Park concert on Aug. 12, which will close out the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Following the July 2 live stream, the songs will be available to download, and a limited edition 7-inch single will be released on Aug. 6. You can listen to bassist Alex James talk about the two songs below.
