Dar Williams Releases Video for "As Cool As I Am"

Singer/songwriter Dar Williams has released a new video for her song “As Cool As I Am.” The video features the song set to a black-and-white montage of scenes from women’s rights protests and of powerful women such as Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama and supreme court justice Sonia Sotomayor.

“As Cool As I Am” is a moving take on women in society and centers around the line “I will not be afraid of women.” When set to the stark, black-and-white images, “As Cool As I Am” takes on a whole new life.

The video was produced in conjunction with the progressive website The Message, and features accompaniment by Jayhawks singer Gary Louris. The video is the first of what is to be series of original video productions from The Message.
