The song that soundtracked that dancing star blob in the Divine Fits’ teaser trailer we saw a few weeks ago can now be heard in full. “My Love is Real,” the ‘80s-ish first single off of Divine Fits’ debut album, is available to stream (in exchange for a “like”) on the band’s Facebook page.
For those who haven’t been following the tiny bits of information the band has been distributing about their goings-on over the past few months, Divine Fits is a collaboration of Spoon’s Britt Daniel, Wolf Parade’s Dan Boeckner and New Bomb Turk’s Dan Brown. Their debut album is being produced by Nick Launay, an English post-punk producer who has worked with Arcade Fire, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. A 7-inch of “My Love is Real,” available via Merge Records on July 31, includes a B-side called “I Was Born in a Laundromat.” The full length record is set to come out later this year. You can pre-order “My Love is Real” starting now here.
