Maxwell Cancels Summer Tour Dates

Maxwell has been forced to cancel his concert performances this summer, according to the artist’s website. Due to a vocal cord edema and hemorrhage, doctors advised the singer to take time to rest.

The tour dates included shows in Los Angeles on July 20-21, Atlanta on July 27-28 followed by shows in Newark on Aug. 3-4. Those who already purchased tickets for these shows will be able to get a complete refund either at the point of purchase or credited back to the credit card used.

According to Maxwell’s site, he said: “I know this sucks but after many months of recording I’ve temporarily damaged my voice. I’ve had issues before during other tours, but was able to power through. I’ve been strongly advised to rest and undergo treatment. I look forward to hopefully seeing you next on our full fledged tour, when the sequel to the BLACKSUMMERSNIGHT trilogy is released. My deepest apologies to those who made the effort to try and see the show. Love and Thanks, M.”
