Philip Seymour Hoffman Offered a Role in Catching Fire

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is still scouting out actors for its major players, but the role of Plutarch Heavensbee finally has a name attached to it—Philip Seymour Hoffman. According to Entertainment Weekly, The Oscar-winning actor was offered the role of the new Head Gamemaker. However, there is no official word on whether or not Hoffman has accepted yet.

Plutarch Heavensbee plays a vital role in the Hunger Games novels, furthering heroine Katniss’ involvement in the rebellion. Catching Fire will begin filming later this fall.
