Olympics Opening Ceremony Playlist Leaked

The 2012 Summer Olympics will kick off on July 27 in London, and that means another multi-hour marathon opening ceremony. Opening ceremonies are the host city’s chance to shine, and with England’s rich musical tradition, organizers knew that filling up a playlist wouldn’t be a problem.

The task of selecting the music was bestowed upon director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours), and his purported playlist for the event has leaked.

The 86-track list is a diverse mix that includes just about every popular English musician to have put a pick to a guitar. Some notable tracks that will be featured are “God Save the Queen” by Sex Pistols; “Satisfaction” by The Rolling Stones; “Paper Planes” by M.I.A.; and “I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor” by Arctic Monkeys.
