Not to be outdone in the recent wake of puppet revivals, Sesame Street has a movie of its own in the works. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elmo, Big Bird and many more will make their return to the big screen via 20th Century Fox.
Joey Mazzarino, the show’s longtime writer, is currently writing the script. Shawn Levy, Michael Aguilar, Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady will produce. No additional details have been released, but this will mark the third film entry in the show’s history. The first was the 1985 release, Follow That Bird, and more recently, there was 1999’s The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland.
