It’s a big week for Black Keys news: The band just filed lawsuits against Home Depot and Pizza Hut for unauthorized use of their songs in commercials (because every musician dreams of having their songs associated with cheesy pizza bites and power tools without their permission). But that’s not stopping the two-piece from making time to record a new album starting next month.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, drummer Patrick Carney said: “We don’t know when we’ll be done but we’re starting it in July. We might not finish it until March since we have to tour so much, but we’ll see,” he said. “We don’t know what’s going on. After July, we’ll be able to know how long it’ll take.”
There’s no word yet on whether or not they’ll bring along Danger Mouse, who produced El Camino, for this next effort, though he has filed lawsuits against the aforementioned companies, too, according to Bloomberg.
