The Newest Season of Weeds Will Be Its Last
After eight seasons, Showtime’s pot-centric dramedy Weeds will come to an end. According to the Chicago Tribune, Showtime cancelled Jenji Kohan’s daring creation, forcing writers to wrap up the series.
Weeds stars Mary-Louis Parker as Nancy Botwin, a widowed mother of two who turns to drug dealing to support her family. The series is credited as a groundbreaking project that helped put Showtime on the map in terms of original productions.
The final season of Weeds will premiere on Sunday, July 1.
