The xx Announces New Album Coexist
Coexist due out Sept. 11
Everyone knew it was coming, but The xx have finally announced the release of the highly-anticipated follow-up to their Mercury Prize-winning 2009 debut. Coexist is set for a Sept. 11 release via Young Turks Records. The album will available internationally on Sept. 10.
The minimalist British rockers already announced a full slate of summer tour dates, which will include their first performances in the U.S. since 2010, and have been performing and releasing a number of new tracks over the course of the past few weeks.
Coexist was produced by band member Jamie Smith and recorded in The xx’s London studio between November of 2011 and May of this year.
“After a long time on the road, we took a break, created our own studio and wrote these new songs that we’re so looking forward to playing to you,” the band said in a press release.
