This Week In News

Every week, new music videos or singles are released to either create hype for upcoming albums or to feature material that has recently come out. This week Fiona Apple’s new video for her track “Every Single Night" came out and demonstrated her quirky, or just outright strange taste in props. Passion Pit also has a new video for “Take a Walk," a song from their album Gossamer, which is set for release on July 24.

Quite a few new albums were announced this week as well, including those from Big Boi, Tori Amos, Thee Oh Sees, Dinosaur Jr. and Menomena. Not to mention the upcoming album from a pretty incredible new collaboration between St. Vincent and David Byrne.

For TV news, Showtime announced two new shows for the network, Masters of Sex and Ray Donovan, but sadly Weeds will officially have its last season this year.

In the movie world, it’s not unusual for older projects inspire something new. For example, this week it was announced that Bored to Death, the cancelled offbeat comedy starting Zach Galifinakis and Jason Schwartzman, might be made into a movie. In other stoner-movies news, Jay and Silent Bob might be made into an animated film.
