With Moonrise Kingdom still fresh on movie reels, Wes Anderson, the ambitious 43-year-old director, is already planning his next feature film. Anderson talked with Vulture in mid-May and explained that he hammered through the script with an old (non-movie business) friend.
Harper’s Bazaar uncovered a little more with Anderson stating: “It’s a film I want to make in Europe, a Euro movie.” According to Empire, the yet-to-be-titled film has a main character “who’s a bit crazy,” which isn’t exactly treading new territory given the director’s previous work (see: Steve Zissou).
In other Anderson-related news, Moonrise Kingdom will have an animated short that Anderson hopes to release online sometime next week. The short film focuses on the character Suzy and will also feature the film’s narrator, Bob Balaban.
