Animal Collective Unveil New Cover Art for Centipede Hz

Late last month, Animal Collective revealed the album art for their forthcoming LP, Centipede Hz. It featured a garish-looking pair of psychedelic lips, and apparently wasn’t as well-received as the band would have hoped. Earlier today they released a revised, toned-down version of the cover. Check it out to the right.

The band also announced that if you pre-order the album, you will be treated to a DVD containing a high-quality audio playback of the album, as well as a number of video files including footage from a 2011 performance at Prospect Park in Brooklyn.

Centipede Hz, which will follow-up Animal Collective’s 2009 release Merriweather Post Pavillion, is set to be released Sept. 4 on Domino Records.
