In the wake of last Friday’s tragic theater shootings, Batman star Christian Bale is currently in Aurora, Colo., visiting victims, a rep for Warner Brothers told The Denver Post.
Over the weekend, hundreds signed petitions asking Chrisitan Bale to travel to Aurora to personally visit the victims. Due to several cancellations of premieres and press appearances for The Dark Knight Rises, Bale’s schedule was open for the visit.
According to the rep, Bale traveled to Colorado of his own accord, and not as a representative of Warner Brothers.
“Words cannot express the horror that I feel,” Bale said in a statement at the time. “I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them.”
Friday’s shooting killed 12 people and left dozens injured. According to CNN, at least 15 people were hospitalized as of late Monday, five of them in critical condition, in four area hospitals.
