Ellie Goulding Announces New Album, Halcyon

Ellie Goulding has announced the release of a follow-up to her wildly successful 2010 debut album, Lights. The British pop singer will be releasing Halcyon on Oct. 9.

The album was written entirely by Goulding, who co-produced the record with Jim Elliott (Kylie Minogue, Ladyhawke). The two worked largely in a converted barn in Goulding’s hometown of Hay Valley, West England while producing the record.

Halcyon’s lead single will be titled “Anything Could Happen” and will be released digitally on Aug. 21. It is set to make its premiere in video form on Aug. 13.

“Lights,” the lead single and title track from Goulding’s debut album, sold 2.5 million copies in the U.S. alone.

Goulding recently recorded a cover of Active Child’s “Hanging On” with Tinie Tempah. Have a listen below.
