This year, Farm Aid keeps its rich history with the state of Pennsylvania alive by bringing its annual benefit concert to Hersheypark Stadium on Sept. 22.
Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp created the group with the mission of raising awareness and money for family farmers. The concert not only helps to increase funds, but is also meant to inspire the purchase of farm-grown food. Since its beginnings in 1985, the organization has raised more than $40 million in support of these farmers and programs that help them thrive.
“The Farm Aid concert is our chance to shine a spotlight on the independent family farmers who are essential to the well-being of our country,” said Farm Aid President Willie Nelson.
This year’s show will feature Nelson as well as fellow board members John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews, who will appear with longtime collaborator Tim Reynolds. Jack Johnson, ALO, Pegi Young & The Survivors and Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real will also perform. For more information, check out the Farm Aid website.
