Final Fantasy III Coming to the OUYA
If you haven’t been paying attention to the OUYA, the Kickstarter funded, Android-based gaming console, now is a good time to start. The project announced a partnership with Square Enix today via its Kickstarter page.
Final Fantasy III, which previously released in the U.S. as a Nintendo DS title, will be one of the system’s launch titles. The game will receive an HD upgrade. Square Enix is also promising future content to the console, although it’s unclear whether that means more ports or new games.
The OUYA breached its original goal of $950,000, and is now sitting on a sum of almost $6 million with eight days left of fundraising. The console doesn’t have an official release date, although it is expected to launch sometime in March of 2013.
