Fresh off his Magic Mike hype, everyone’s favorite golden-hearted stripper is taking his tricks to the next level in a new biopic about Evel Knievel.
That’s right, Channing Tatum is currently in negotiations to co-produce and star as the daredevil himself. The film will follow Knievel’s career, from his 433 broken bones to his world record holdings to blowing the estimated $60 million he made from his stunts.
Based on Stuart Baker’s book about the ‘70s daredevil Life of Eve, Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti have also signed onto the project, the same team who produced The Social Network and who were recently picked up for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. Also on board to produce is Reid Carolin, Tatum’s Iron Horse Entertainment partner.
Tatum is not the first to portray the stars-and-stripes clad stuntman, with George Hamilton having starred in the 1971 Evel Knievel and Knievel starring as himself in the 1977 film Viva Knievel!
