There must be something in the water over in Hollywood, because word of a third game-based film this week has reached our ears. Along with Assassin’s Creed (the Fassbender edition) and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, God of War will be ripping apart Greek gods in a theater near you.
Universal pulled writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (of Saw fame) for a studio adaptation, according to THR. Charles Roven and Alex Gartner are also attached to produce.
The God of War series stars Spartan warrior Kratos, who gets all kinds of angry after tragedy strikes his family. Kratos takes his vengeance to Olympic levels and begins hunting the god of war himself, Ares.
