Paste and HGTV Announce Songwriting Competition

We’re admittedly huge fans of discovering up-and-coming artists, so we’re excited to announce a songwriting competition to find The New Sound of HGTV. Paste editors and HGTV producers will select a winning song from entries that you submit, and the selected track will be featured for HGTV’s upcoming House Hunters International marketing and promotional campaign. The contest is active here from now through Sept. 5 at 5 p.m. EST.

“Music provides a soundtrack for your life,” said Jennifer Leitman, HGTV’s vice president of marketing and creative services. “We want to find songs that you just can’t get out of your head—songs that will inspire viewers and build a stronger emotional connection to our brand.”

The grand prize package includes:
-**A “Live from Paste” booking at Paste’s Decatur, Ga., headquarters or another location.
**-
A booking to play a Paste event during the 2013 SXSW Music Conference in Austin, Texas.
-**Artist/band credit in HGTV’s key press and promotional announcements for the campaign.
**-
A session booking to play one of Daytrotter’s recording studio outposts.

Nine additional finalists may also have their music featured on HGTV. Submit your own song for consideration here today!
