Kanye West's G.O.O.D Music Compilation Set for September Release

Today an official release date for Cruel Summer, the debut album of Kanye West’s massive collaborative label project G.O.O.D. Music, has been announced—fittingly, for the very end of summer, on Sept. 4. That’s one month later than the previously announced date in early August.

Though it’s obvious (and, c’mon, not at all surprising) that West has the reins on this project, Cruel Summer will feature a broad range of powerful collaborators. Alongside a long list of rappers including 2 Chainz, Big Sean and Pusha T, Cruel Summer is set to include contributions from John Legend, Common and Kid Cudi.

Like last year’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Cruel Summer will be packaged with a West-directed short film.

So far, we’ve heard two singles from Cruel Summer: “New God Flow” is available to stream here, and you can watch the video for “Mercy” below.
